Conscious movement provides us with the opportunity to develop our skills of witnessing our self, witnessing others, as we feel and note the impulses in the body. The body leads the movement, allowing what is held in the body to make itself known. As we bring our awareness to the impulses to move/not move we develop a greater somatic awareness.
As we develop and refine our ability to witness, drawing from the experience of meditation, allowing it to inform our presence to the impulses in our bodies, we can observe and allow the body to express what it holds for us. In stillness and in movement we learn to be more present, more aware, more awake.
